Introduction to Yang Yoga Video
Yang Yoga is the style of Yoga many people are familiar with these days. It’s active, warming, energizing, and does a fabulous job at strengthening and stretching the muscles. For many, the depth of the practice ends there. But there is so much opportunity to experience more, even with this style of Yoga that can feel “superficial”.
In this first Yang Yoga session together, I’ll introduce you to some basic centering and breathing practices in addition to foundational Yoga postures.
Before starting an active Yoga practice, make sure to:
- Wear clothes that allow you to move freely
- Have digested your last meal (wait 1 hr. after eating)
- Empty your bladder & bowels
If you have a serious health issue, be sure to seek guidance from your Health Practitioner before beginning. Also, let me know if you have any limitations and I can let you know which postures to take more care in.
Introduction to Yin Yoga Video
Yin Yoga is a still, passive style which brings greater flexibility and ease to the body. The receptive approach allows for more introspection, greater intention, and is a deeply meditative.
You may need a blanket and perhaps a few cushions for your Yin Yoga practice, but that is all.
It’s fine to do this practice after a meal, as some postures actually help improve your digestion as we rest.
Introduction to Qigong Video
Qigong is one of the 5 Branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine and is a fabulous way to experience holistic health. It’s based on the notion that we’re microcosms of nature, and we experience wholeness within ourselves and a stronger connection to nature through:
- Breathing exercises
- Guided Imagery
- Meditations
- Mindful movement
It’s best to practice at least 30-60 minutes after a meal. Qigong can be energizing, so best to do in the first part of the day.
In this video, I teach you more about the basics, including a Wuji meditation to improve your immune health.
