As we continue our Spiritual Healing Series this December, I want to dive even deeper into how Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Shamanism can play a powerful role in supporting your spiritual health. If you’ve missed the earlier posts in this series, be sure to check out the first two, where we explored what spiritual health really means and how we can overcome the five things that block our spiritual development, especially through practices like Yoga.
Today, I’m excited to discuss two ancient healing traditions—TCM and Shamanism—and how they can help restore your spiritual balance, particularly during this reflective time of year. Both offer profound insights and healing for our spiritual well-being, and I believe they’re especially important to explore as we close out the year and enter a new chapter.
Spiritual Healing with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
Many of us know TCM through its popular branches like Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine. These practices are known for their physical benefits, such as pain relief and boosting energy. However, TCM is much more than just a physical healing modality. It’s a holistic system that incorporates spiritual and emotional health as well.
In TCM, we believe that human beings hold a unique place between Heaven and Earth. The Universe is made of an infinite source called Wuji, which divides into the dual forces of Yin and Yang. Our constant goal in life is to balance these two forces. When that balance is off, it can manifest as dis-ease—not only physically but also spiritually.
Our vital energy—known as Qi (or Chi)—flows from this larger cosmic force. It’s this energy that TCM practitioners channel during Acupuncture and Qigong practices. These methods can help restore spiritual balance by reconnecting you to the larger energies of the Universe.
A key concept in TCM is the Shen, or spirit of the self. The Shen needs peace and calm to nourish our mental and spiritual well-being. In TCM, there are sub-spirits associated with the organs.
In many cases, TCM can work on your spiritual health in a way that doesn’t require active involvement from you. This makes it especially appealing for people who prefer to allow the healing process to unfold naturally.
The Power of Shamanism in Spiritual Healing
While TCM offers powerful spiritual tools, Shamanism is often seen as the most direct method for addressing the spiritual nature of a person. Shamanism is an ancient practice that dates back to the very beginnings of human civilization. It has endured in cultures around the world because it offers a clear path for communicating with the Divine.
Shamanic practices include journeys, soul retrievals, power animal retrievals, and energetic extraction techniques. These methods enable individuals to reconnect with their spirit, heal trauma, clear spiritual blockages, and align with their higher purpose.
I’ve personally used these practices in my own healing work. By guiding clients through shamanic journeys, I’ve helped them connect to higher spiritual realms, heal emotional wounds, and regain lost parts of their soul. The benefits of this work often extend beyond the spiritual realm, influencing mental, emotional, and even physical health.
Just like with TCM, Shamanism requires the client to be open and willing to do the work. Sometimes, I teach my clients how to access these realms on their own, but it’s important to be grounded and mentally prepared to handle the profound experiences that arise.
Why This Matters for You, Right Now
As we move through this reflective time of year, exploring and nurturing your spiritual health is more important than ever. When we reconnect with our spiritual essence, we not only enhance our overall well-being but also gain a deeper sense of meaning and purpose. Both TCM and Shamanism offer unique and transformative ways to heal and restore balance to your spirit, especially during the winter months when introspection and renewal are key.
If you’re curious to explore these healing methods further, I’d love to guide you through a personalized spiritual healing session. Whether you’re seeking greater spiritual clarity, emotional healing, or just want to deepen your connection to your higher self, I’m here to help. Reach out to schedule a session, either in person or online.
Looking Ahead
In the final video of our Spiritual Healing Series, I share about my own spiritual journey and how it’s evolved over the past year. This has been a transformative time for me, and I’m excited to share how these healing practices—particularly TCM and Shamanism—align with my current path and spirituality.
In particular, I’ll be discussing how these practices relate to my faith journey in Christianity, a topic that’s been coming up a lot in recent conversations. It’s a deeply personal story, but I believe it’s an important one to share, and I hope it resonates with others who may be on a similar path.
I look forward to connecting with you in the final post of this series! Until then, take some time to reflect on the spiritual practices you may want to explore and integrate into your own journey.
