Wu Zang Meditation for Protection
As you open up your mind, heart, and spiritual nature, there’s a possibility that you will become less grounded. And this can leave you open to certain “vulnerabilities”, like taking on other people’s energy and even negative supernatural experiences. Doing the Yoga practices, especially the Yin and standing Yang postures will help you ground. This Wu Zang meditation can help a lot too, especially if you’re starting to experience intense emotions that are not yours, or having nightmares or dream disturbed sleep.
What is Wu Zang Meditation?
Wu Zang is an ancient Taoist meditation that provides protection from external pathogens or attacks. This is energy that can inflict harm, intentionally or not, on the body, heart, mind, and/or spirit. Wu Zang involves the 5 Shen, or spirits of the body, that’s represented by 5 protective animal spirits. It also involves the 6 directions: North, S, E, W, Heaven, and Earth, so protecting your being from every angle.
There are many different variations of this meditation and many details. The meditation I’m teaching you here is simplified. You can reach out to me for questions or if you’d just like to know more about it.
This meditation can be extremely helpful for feeling safe in your body every day, especially when influenced by others (healing practitioners are particularly vulnerable to picking up other people’s energy). However, this meditation is also extremely helpful to protect you in your sleep from energies that can cause potential harm to your mind and spirit in the dream world.
Therefore, to do this practice you’re welcome to sit up or stand if you’re wanting to stay alert, or lay down and practice this in bed if doing before sleep.
