Connecting to the Pranamaya Kosha
The Pranamaya Kosha is the next level, which is comprised of the breath and our vital energy that is linked to it.
Qigong Clearing Exercises
We need to clear out stagnant Qi/energy before we can build up more. You’ll experience less tension too as you do these simple exercises.
Qigong Tonifying 5 Element Practice
These Qigong exercises build up and strengthen the Qi in these vital organs and channels which have special characteristics and function. You can practice this whole sequence for balanced attention, or just focus on the ones that are out of balance for you.
See the TCM 5 Element chart in the first module to determine if you’re out of balance in a certain organ/channel.
Yin Yoga with Qigong Regulation
In this session, we’ll combine a Qigong regulating practice with Yin Yoga. This will help you refine the work of your mind & intention with moving the Qi while you regulate and smooth it out evenly in the body.
Yang Vinyasa Flow Yoga
Link your breath with active movement to experience a dynamic yoga flow.
Pranayama Breathing Practice
You’ve already been doing a great job incorporating conscious breath with movement in Yoga & Qigong! Ujayi breathing is the style we typically do with these movement practices. Remember, that’s when we constrict the throat slightly so the breath makes a whispering sound in the throat, even though you’re inhaling and exhaling through the nose.
It is interesting to take some time to practice many styles of conscious breathing. Another favorite of mine is Nadi Shodana, alternate nostril breathing, which I introduced to you in the free Stress Less Challenge. It’s a great way to get your mind into your body to promote greater rest and and opportunity for renewal
In this pranayama session today, I’m going to introduce you to Viloma Pranayama, which is super effective in deepening the breath. It can be practiced therapeutically to strengthen the lungs, so helps those who may suffer from asthma and is even said to help regulate blood pressure.
